Vogue 1379 is one of Vogue's designer patterns. This pattern was designed by Tracy Reese! It is an elegant, easy-to-wear dress. As with many of Vogue's designer patterns, there are lots of fun details - a front neckline slit, tabs at the neckline, a yoke with forward shoulder seams, and a built-in camisole. Interestingly, there are no side seams: instead, there are princess seams down the front which feature pockets and deep slits from the mid-thigh to the hem. (If you're wanting to make a more demure version, I'm sure you could easily skip the slits and sew up the seams! This dress should also be relatively easy to lengthen, if you'd prefer a longer length.) Finally, the insides of this dress are as beautifully finished as the outside, with French seams throughout.
You'd think, with all of these details, that this would be an advanced pattern. However, Vogue has rated it as 'easy', so don't feel intimidated! This would be a great introduction for advanced beginners to a designer pattern. As for reviews, there's currently only one review of this pattern on PatternReview.com and the review is positive.
