Outfit of the Week - 25 May 2015
Our outfit of the week for 25 May 2015 is By Hand London's Holly jumpsuit. Get 10% off this pattern until 12 pm on Monday, 1 June 2015! Find the pattern (and all the coordinating fabrics) at the bottom of this page.
This is such a stylish and versatile pattern! There are two different bodices to choose from: a button-down bodice with a scoop neck and short sleeves, and a strappy, bias-cut bodice with a slight cowl at the neckline. There are also two different styles of trousers to choose from: shorts, and wide-legged, floor-sweeping trousers. You also have the option of leaving off the bodice and simply making a pair of trousers or shorts. So, you get a lot of value-for-money with this pattern: you can make a jumpsuit, romper and shorts for spring/summer, and some classy wide-legged trousers for autumn/winter! As for the difficulty of this pattern, By Hand London has rated it as 2 sewing machines (out of 3). So, it's an intermediate pattern. I think it could be attempted by an advanced beginner, though, as it doesn't have any particularly difficult features.
You can use a wide variety of fabrics with this pattern. Inspired by the inspiration images, I've selected several of our crepes. The Sibylle crepes are medium-weight and are very crease resistant - a nice choice for this pattern. If you're looking for something lighter and floatier, then our Isobel crepe is a good choice.
Prices for fabrics are per quarter metre (0.25 m).
