Outfit of the Week - 26 October 2015
Our 'Outfit of the Week' for 26 October 2015 is Grainline Studio's Lark Tee with Burda's 6855 jeans! Get 10% off these patterns until 12 pm on Monday, 2 November 2015. Find the patterns (and all the coordinating fabrics) at the bottom of this page.
The Lark Tee is Grainline Studio's latest pattern. If you're looking for a pattern for a basic T-shirt, this is a great option! It's got a modern, slim fit - not extremely baggy or tight. You can wear it on its own or under shirts, jumpers or jackets. There are four neckline options and four sleeve options. So, it's a really versatile, classic pattern that you'll be able to make again and again! Grainline Studio has rated this a 'beginner pattern' - its easiest difficulty level. As for reviews, there is currently only one review of this pattern on PatternReview.com and it's positive!
One of the things that Burda is well-known for is the quality of its trouser patterns: a lot of sewers find that they produce a good, consistent fit. If you're looking to make skinny jeans, Burda 6855 is a great option. It's got all of the hallmarks of jeans - except for a back yoke and rivets. So, it's a little bit easier than other jeans patterns. Burda has rated this as an 'average' pattern (its middle of three difficulty levels). As for reviews, there are currently two reviews on PatternReview.com and they both give the pattern a positive rating.
Grainline Studio recommends light to medium weight jersey knits for Lark. Based on the inspiration images, I've recommended a few of our cotton and viscose jerseys. You can see our full range of jerseys here.
As for the 6855 jeans, Burda recommends stretch fabrics, such as stretch denim, cotton or gabardine. I've recommended a few of our stretch denims. We got a few new stretch denims in this week - end of the roll fabrics from a high-end high street retailer! You can see them all at the bottom of this page.
This outfit was inspired by several outfits featured recently in ready-to-wear collections and popular fashion blogs. To see more inspiration images, have a look at our 'Tops: Knit' board on Pinterest.
