Outfit of the Week - 7 September 2015
Our 'Outfit of the Week' for 7 September 2015 is Vogue's 9065 sleeveless jacket! Get 10% off this pattern until 12 pm on Monday, 14 September 2015. Find the pattern (and all the coordinating fabrics) at the bottom of this page.
This is the first time I've had a jacket as our 'Outfit of the Week'! I've decided that, for jackets, I am just going to feature the jacket - not a complete outfit (as there would be too many patterns to feature!).
Sleeveless blazers are really popular at the moment and look so stylish overtop a wide variety of garments. They're perfect for keeping warm both inside and outside as the temperature falls over the coming weeks! Vogue's 9065 is a lined sleeveless jacket with two length options, a notched collar, side pockets and topstitching. Vogue has rated this as a 'very easy' pattern, so it should be a quick and easy sew for more experienced sewers and a good first jacket project for beginner sewers (who will learn how to insert a lining and sew a notched collar). As for reviews, there are currently no reviews of this pattern on PatternReview.com. It should also be noted that this pattern also includes trousers and a skirt.
This pattern can be made in a wide variety of fabrics, including crepe, gabardine, ponte knits and lightweight denim. We've got lots of fabrics in these categories and I've recommended a few below. If you're looking for a drapier jacket, choose crepe. If you're looking for a jacket that is really snuggly and comfy, why not try one of our Romola ponte di romas? If you're looking for something more structured, choose one of our denims, sateens or suiting fabrics.
This outfit was inspired by several outfits featured recently in popular fashion blogs and ready-to-wear collections. To see more inspiration images, have a look at our 'Jackets and Blazers' board on Pinterest.
