Outfit of the Week - 9 November 2015
Our 'Outfit of the Week' for 9 November 2015 is McCall's 7292 jumpsuit! Get 10% off this pattern until 12 pm on Monday, 16 November 2015. Find the pattern (and all the coordinating fabrics) at the bottom of this page.
McCall's 7292 is a super-stylish jumpsuit pattern! It has lots of great features. I love the zipper up the centre front and the partially-elasticated waistband (which, along with being comfortable, looks great with this style of jumpsuit!). There are three options for the sleeves: sleeveless, short cap sleeves, and three-quarter-length sleeves. There are also two options for the bottom of the trousers: plain and elasticated. Finally, there are currently no reviews of this pattern on PatternReview.com and McCall's has not given this pattern a difficulty rating (to be on the safe side, I've classed it as an intermediate pattern).
The one catch with this pattern is that it's a petite pattern. For McCall's, this means that it's designed for ladies who are around 5'2" (1.57cm) to 5'3" (1.60cm) in height (as opposed to its regular patterns, which are designed for ladies about 5'5" (1.65cm) to 5'6" (1.68cm) in height). If you're not a petite and would like to try this pattern, it's relatively easy to lengthen the pattern to suit your height (Burda has some great instructions here). Alternatively, if you don't want to fuss with having to lengthen the pattern, McCall's has a great alternative pattern which is very similar - McCall's 7203. I've included it below and have also put it on sale.
I've recommended a few of our crepes, viscose challises, shirting-weight cottons and lace for this pattern. These fabrics will also work for McCall's 7203. To see the recommended fabrics, scroll down to the bottom of this page.
