Based in Vancouver, Canada, Sewaholic Patterns was founded in 2010 by Tasia St. Germaine. Frustrated by having to alter commercial patterns to fit her curvy lower body, Tasia - who formerly worked in the fashion industry - decided to start her own pattern company, with the aim of offering pretty, versatile sewing patterns designed to fit and flatter pear-shaped figures. Sewaholic is one of the older and more established of the recent new wave of independent pattern companies. Their patterns are extremely popular, being both well designed and easy to use.
Sewers of all figure types sew Sewaholic's patterns, so don't be put off if you're not pear-shaped! Have a look at Sewaholic's measurement chart, and consider carefully the style of the pattern and the alterations you may have to make: you may find that the style of the pattern necessitates few (if any) alterations.
