Tilly and the Buttons Coco Top and Dress
Fabrics can generally be classified into two groups - woven fabrics and knitted fabrics. Most people learning how to sew start with woven fabrics, as they are generally easier to sew. However, Tilly and the Buttons has designed a perfect introduction to sewing with knit fabrics: their Coco top and dress. Coco is sewn using stable knit fabrics: being less stretchy and medium-weight, they're easier to sew than most other knits. As always, Tilly and the Buttons' instructions are excellent: they guide you through with a jargon buster, clearly labelled pattern pieces, and photos of each step.
For this pattern, I would recommend our Romola ponte di romas. They're medium-weight and not very stretchy. I'm sorry the colours are very sombre at the moment: I'll be getting more in soon!
Prices for fabrics are per quarter metre (0.25 m).
